This Evacusled was an essential piece of preparedness equipment, originally designed for the evacuation of limited-mobility hospital patients during hurricane, fire, flood or other emergency. Fits under a typical hospital mattress, and allows a single rescuer to pull a patient (with their mattress) to a safe location. Built-in wheels under the Sled eliminate dragging and lifting. Flexible components allow easy navigating of hallways, doorways and stairwells in large hospitals and similar care facilities.
Beyond its original intent, this Evacusled would be a great device for taking the effort out of pulling any large load. Lumber. Heavy equipment. Anything roughly human sized can be made more portable. A smart investment for potential situations where the number of hands available is diminished.
